The Bukit Timah Collection | Prime District 10
There is a hill the stars look to
Where nature tangos
Where the city runs to
Where curiosity wanders free
This is where seasons never lose their splendour
Where life, beauty, and joy entwine
Above all, this is a lasting home

THE HISTORY

The name Bukit Timah was first recorded in a 1828 map and it literally means ‘tin bearing hill’ in Malay. Today, mention Bukit Timah and what comes to mind are beautiful homes, an exclusive neighbourhood, renowned schools, abundant greenery and an enviable lifestyle. The area is a prime residential district where the majority of Singapore’s 39 Good Class Bungalow Areas are concentrated, including Fourth/Sixth Avenue, First/Third Avenue, Belmont Park, Victoria Park, Cornwall Gardens and Queen Astrid Park. Part of Bukit Timah also falls under Prime District 10, one of the most sought-after residential areas in the city.

VIOLET OON
Restauranteur
There is a very liveable side to Bukit Timah. The area is peppered with numerous restaurants and home-style eateries, offering everything from gourmet fare to local favourites. Despite being close to the city, these food offerings have a cosy, laid-back atmosphere. Violet Oon’s eponymous restaurant, for one, has drawn Singaporeans from all over the island. Places like the Bukit Timah Saddle Club also offer opportunities for horse riding and a chance to get close to nature. The lifestyle in Bukit Timah is one that is wonderfully homely, yet inspiring at the same time.
